The pillar of each project
A safe ecosystem is the top priority in everything we do and the first step in any new design.
Through our cutting-edge automated intralogistics solutions, our goal is to guarantee the highest level of safety within our customers' factories and distribution centers, ensuring maximum system reliability and sustainability over time.
To achieve this, we continue to invest significant resources in developing additional technological protection systems and providing high-end training programs.
Safety is crucial in the material handling activities to protect workers, goods and infrastructure.
E80 GROUP CULTURE ON SAFETY
In the automated intralogistics solutions developed by E80 Group, the priority is to ensure the highest levels of safety within manufacturing plants and distribution centers, while combining operational continuity with long-term sustainability. Ensuring a safe system represents the foundation of every project, made possible through the use of advanced technologies that help strengthen the protection of people, assets, and infrastructure, following a safety approach that spans the entire operational lifecycle.
With thousands of systems installed worldwide, E80 Group embeds these principles into every phase of its processes, developing intralogistics solutions that increase efficiency while maintaining the highest safety standards and anticipating the evolving needs of the market. This commitment is reflected in continuous investments in innovation and in highly specialized training programs, aimed at promoting increasingly advanced and safety-aware working environments.
SMARTDECT
International regulations require laser-guided vehicles to be equipped with Proximity Laser Scanners for detecting people in the area, alarm systems and protective covers. Our LGVs have always been designed and built with technologically advanced systems that comply with current regulations.
To further increase the level of safety within facilities we have patented SmartDect. It’s a people-tracking system that makes use of Ultra-Wide Band technology to increase the LGVs’ ability to detect the presence of workers in the surrounding area, reducing the risks associated with potentially dangerous situations arising from unpredictable behavior.
Each LGV is equipped with sensors that locate and communicate with tags worn by workers in the surrounding area, up to a maximum of 50 feet away. SmartDect allows each LGV to track the position, speed and direction of workers with tags, anticipating any possible interference. The tag provides workers with feedback: vibration, flashing and sound. If the LGV detects a possible collision it slows down to a stop, otherwise it continues on its path
PEOPLE DETECTION
E80 Group’s People Detection technology is designed to enhance workplace safety by leveraging computer vision and artificial intelligence. This system improves AGVs awareness of the surrounding area through a multi-camera people detection system. AGVs recognize the presence of operators and other entities in real time, using a network of stereo cameras that reconstruct the environment in 3D, combined with advanced deep learning algorithms. The industrial-grade hardware is specifically engineered, by the in-house R&D department, for complex production settings, ensuring reliability and robustness.
The system can also be configured to identify not only pedestrians but also forklifts, pickers, and other entities, providing extended protection.
